Kevin is survived by the love of his life, Janet Finton. Together, they had a loving family, which includes their children: Ryan Finton, Natasha (Alex) Neumann, Tyler (Caitlin) Finton, Michael (Jodi) Finton, and Emily Finton. He was a proud and devoted papaw to eight grandchildren: Maddox, Lainey, Kaidence, Crosby, Torryn, Nova, Luna, and Huey. His two brothers, Kent and Kurt Finton, were not only his siblings but also his best friends, and he cherished the bond they shared. Kevin is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and dear friends, including Cowboy. He leaves behind his faithful dog, Cruz, and his cat, Midnight Lily, who he claimed he “didn’t want” but was always seen holding.
A proud graduate of Riverview High School in 1981, Kevin began his career as an EMT, where he became known for his skill in mending “boo-boos.” He was also a part of the successful family business, Finton Equipment Inc., earning a reputation as a dedicated worker and friend to the community. As president of the local John Deere store, he formed lasting relationships with farmers and their families, becoming a beloved figure in the area.
Kevin enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including fishing, taking road trips, and sharing Gator rides with his grandsons. He loved traveling, especially to the casinos in Las Vegas, and delighted in showing his children the beautiful countryside and farm animals. A devoted sports fan, he cheered for Ohio State and the Steelers, and had a passion for NASCAR racing. He found joy in simple pleasures, whether it was enjoying a nice cigar or embarking on adventures with his brothers.
Known for his quiet demeanor and quick-witted sense of humor, Kevin had a unique ability to make those around him laugh when they least expected it. His last months were spent with his wife by his side, his grandchildren in his arms, and his dog on his lap.
