

He was born on May 26, 1928 in Coshocton to the late Benjamin and Sophia (Stahl) Blackson.
Pooch was a 1948 graduate of Coshocton High School and on June 6, 1954, he married Mary Alice (Wilson) Blackson.
Pooch was a life member of Grace United Methodist Church. A life member of the Elks and past Exalted Ruler. He was very proud that he played on the CHS 1946, Championship football team. He was a 7-UP distributor in Coshocton from 1953-1963; owned and operated Pooch’s market and was the owner and operator of Blackson Insurance Agency working with his wife until 1986. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his two children, Michael (Becky) Blackson of Coshocton and Susan (Jerry) Mann of Coshocton; three grandchildren, Cory (Susan) Blackson of Kentucky, Sara Holdsworth of Coshocton and Tyler (Emily) Mann of Coshocton; and four great-grandchildren, Emily and Colin Blackson, Payzley Holdsworth and Rosie Mann.
Along with his parents, Pooch is preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Mary Alice, who passed away on June 20, 2011 and seven siblings.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at the funeral home at 12:00 pm with Pastor Joe Sanders officiating. Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery.
