Mary was born in Coshocton County to the late Edgar and Geneva (Mizer) Besst. In 1941, she graduated from Coshocton High School. For many years, Mary worked at Edmont-Wilson, where she retired from in 1984.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Linda (Gordon) Mapel, four grandchildren: Penny (Jaimie) Hahn, Pamela (David) Wright, Russell (Sandie) Mapel, and Kimberly (Brian) Shaw; eight great grandchildren: Richard Nash Jr., Nicholas Hahn, Lacey Hahn, Brice Mapel, Kyle Mapel, Holley Mapel, Brandon Shaw, and Joshua Shaw; two great-great grandchildren: Kaitelyn Nash and Brendon Nash; and her brother Louis “Ben” (Annie) Besst.
Along with her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her brother, John (Lorraine) Besst and her sister, Norma (Bob) Popham.
Per Mary’s wishes, there will be no services or calling hours. Contributions can be made to the Coshocton County Animal Shelter, 21755 TR 164 Morgan Run Road, Coshocton, OH 43812.
