OBITUARY

Thomas Lee Dobson

Passed away on January 3, 2019

Thomas Lee Dobson (“Tom”), age 75, of Coshocton passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2019. He was born on July 27, 1943 in Coshocton, to the late Raymond “Dobby” and Ruth (Yaw) Dobson.

Tom is survived by his wife of 53 years, Karen (McCormick) Dobson; daughter Kimberly (Michael) McCoy of Cooperdale; son Tyler (Susan) Dobson of Coshocton; grandchildren Hayden and Britton McCoy, and Skyler Dobson; aunts Leah Fisher and Betty Carroll; and special cousins Susan Uhl, Linda Schlegel, and Paul (Bud) Yaw.

After high school, Tom joined the United States Army Reserves serving six years before being honorably discharged in 1970. While being in the Reserves he worked at Hunt Crawford. Tom was a lineman for various cable TV companies of Coshocton for 41 years starting in 1967. The cable company went through several name changes throughout his career. He retired from Time Warner Cable Company in 2008.

After retirement he enjoyed keeping busy at McCoy Ag Wrench in Warsaw, but he always commented he was no farmer (even though he enjoyed helping on the farm).

He was a lifetime member (49 years) of the Coshocton Elks and a member of the AMVETS Post #36.

Tom enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandchildren going to various sporting events, school events and fair time. He especially enjoyed his beach vacations to Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head Island.

He enjoyed traveling with friends to car shows and Nascar races. He also enjoyed his Sunday visits and outings with special friends. Tom took several trips on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle with family and friends.

His work passion and sense of humor will forever be remembered by family and friends. Our memories of Tom, Dad, and Gramps will be cherished forever.

At Tom’s request, there will be no services.

For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made in Tom’s name to Grace United Methodist Church, 422 Walnut Street, Coshocton, Ohio 43812. Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home is serving the family.
