

Virginia Laverne Norman, 98, of West Lafayette, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022. She was born in Tippecanoe, Ohio on January 6, 1924 to the late Robert Loy and Roberta Florence (Wharton) Laughlin.
Ginny married Robert A. Norman on July 14, 1946, who preceded her in death on March 18, 2010. She was a member of West Lafayette United Methodist Church, and volunteered at every election as a poll worker. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and worked as a teacher’s aide for many years working with disabled children. Virginia was an excellent homemaker, and especially loved crocheting, sewing, and needlework. No one made a better pie crust! She was friendly and never met a stranger, and was fiercely loyal and loving to her family.
Virginia is survived by her children Daniel (Joyce) Norman and Jonathan Norman, her daughter in law Pam Norman, four grandchildren Dallas (Kylea) Norman, Angie (Brian) Huefner, Annie Norman, and Casey Norman. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Matilda Norman, Simon Huefner, Henry Huefner, and Benjamin Huefner. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Virginia was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Robert A. Norman, her parents, her sister Gladys Egler, her brother Robert Laughlin, and her grandson Mark Robert Norman.
Calling hours will be held at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm officiated by Pastor Matt Anderson. Burial will take place at Fairfield Cemetery.
