Walter L. "Bud" Bordenkircher

Walter L. “Bud” Bordenkircher, age 75, passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. He was born in Coshocton, Ohio on March 17, 1937, the son of the late Walter L. and Cecelia (Quill) Bordenkircher. Bud was a graduate of Sacred Heart Catholic School. After high school he joined the United States Navy, and served his country from 1955-1959. Bud’s working career included working with his heating and air conditioning business, maintenance man at General Electric, electrician for Hilscher-Clarke, and then his own electrical contracting business, Bordenkircher Electric, from which he retired after over 25 years of service. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the Coshocton Elks Lodge #376. Bud loved going to Lake Erie to fish almost every weekend. In later years he fished with his buddy Bob Wilson along the banks of the Tusky. His other activities were, golf, working with the horses, taking care of his home and family, and traveling to Las Vegas, where he would go two or three times a year. Bud married Lois Ann (Noble) Bordenkircher on June 17, 1961, who survives. Also surviving is his son, Todd Allen Bordenkircher; granddaughter, Tessa Rena Bordenkircher; two brothers, Charles (Ann) Bordenkircher and Rodger (Tomma) Bordenkircher; one sister, Joan Vought; two sisters-in-law, Nancy (John) Albert, and Helen (William) Gladstone; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held at Given-Dawson Funeral Home on Thursday, April 26, 2012 from 5-8PM with a Christian Wake service starting at 7:45PM. A funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Friday, April 27, 2012 at 10:30AM with Father William Hritsko officiating. Burial will follow at Coshocton County Memory Gardens where the Coshocton County Veterans Council will perform military honors.
