Wilma E. Freetage, age 78, of West Lafayette, Ohio, passed away at her residence on Monday, December 9, 2013. She was born in Tiverton Township on September 23, 1935, the daughter of the late Clarence Edward and Artie Belle (Tish) Stephan. Wilma worked several years for Jones Metal in West Lafayette, and Yankee Wire from where she retired. She was a member of the Victory Center Pentecostal Church of God. On October 30, 1956, she married Forrest “Buzz” Freetage, who preceded her in death on August 3, 2003. Wilma is survived by five children, Thelma (Jeff) Beckman of Walhonding, Ohio, Sharon (Floyd) McCormick of West Lafayette, Marilyn (Steve) Strasbaugh of Norwalk, Ohio, Forrest Melvin (Connie Miller) Freetage Jr. of West Lafayette, and Larry (Brenda) Freetage of Fredericksburg, Virginia; 18 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Wilma Freetage, and Pat Stephan; one brother-in-law, Jim Griffith; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Wilma is preceded in death by two siblings, Beulah Stephan and Kenneth Stephan. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Given-Dawson Funeral Home on Friday, December 13, 2013 at 1:00pm with Reverend Joe Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Fairfield Cemetery in West Lafayette. Calling hours will be held at Given-Dawson Funeral Home on Thursday, December 12, 2013 from 5-7pm and one hour prior to the time of service on Friday.
