

Dikran was born to Misak and Takuhi Mardikian on October 15, 1933 in Beirut, Lebanon, where he grew up. In 1957 he married Sossie Hagopian. Mr. Mardikian was in the leather industry by profession. In 1953, he opened his first business, Romance, a handbag manufacturing company. After much success, Romance was later renamed Brummel Handbags and transformed into a prestigious retail store in the famed Hamra district of Beirut. In 1982 Mr. Mardikian and his family moved to Montreal, Canada where they lived for nine years. Mr. Mardikian and his family then moved to Costa Mesa in Orange County, California in 1991. Mr. Mardikian lived in Costa Mesa until he passed away on November 1, 2013
Dikran Mardikian will be remembered for being a kind and loving father and grandfather. He loved nothing more than spending time with his children and grandchildren. His love for his family was only rivaled by his love for soccer, of which he was an avid fan. He was also a well respected member of the church and Orange County Armenian Community.
Mr. Mardikian is survived by his three children Jack Mardikian, Vicken Mardikian, and Colette Mardikian as well as his three grandchildren Danny Mardikian, Vicken Haig Mardikian, and Nairi Mardikian.
The viewing will be held at Forty Martyrs Armenian Apostolic church in Santa Ana, CA, on Saturday November 9, 2013 from 11 AM until 12 PM . Funeral service will immediately follow the viewing from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM, led by Reverend Father Karekin Bedourian. Mr. Mardikian will be laid to rest at Harbor Lawn-Mt. Olive Memorial Park Cemetery in Costa Mesa, CA at 1:30 p.m. A Reception will be held following the burial at Barsamian Hall, located next to Forty Martyrs Armenian Church. All those wishing to pay their respects to Mr. Mardikian are welcome to attend.
