I remember alway having dinner over at the Arko house on sleepovers.  Mrs. Arko would be busy making dinner.  The house always smelled like something was cooking or baking. I believe it was the first time I was introduced to Hawaiian Roles (at least that is what I am remembering).

I also remember that Mrs. Arko was always so very well dressed and her home was immaculate. This was a trait, as a young elementary child, I oddly envied.
