Don had a zest for life and enjoyed a variety of hobbies. He was an avid surfer, spending countless hours riding the waves along the Orange County coast. When the snow fell, he could be found skiing down the mountain slopes of Utah. Don also had a green thumb and took great pleasure in tending to his cherished rose garden.
As well as his adventurous spirit, Don had a passion for music, particularly jazz. His favorite foods included his Mom's famous apple pie. He became the keeper of her special recipe.
Above all, Don loved his children and held a deeply rooted faith in Jesus. He was a very loving father and his legacy lives on through his children: James Blum (63), Michael Canfield (56), Janie Canfield (55), James Canfield (51), Joy Desmond (49), and Heather James(39)
Don is survived by his sisters, Barbara Hillman (88), Marjorie Canfield (78), and Sue Canfield-Cable (75). Their love and support were a constant source of strength throughout his life.
The world has lost a kind-hearted soul, and Don's memory will forever be held dear by those who knew him. May he rest in eternal peace, forever remembered as a loving father, devoted friend, and sincere believer in the power of love and faith.
