Happy Birthday to my dear friend Ellen whom I will always remember for her friendship and special ways she touched those around her. It seems like it was not that long ago  I could hear her laughter. Dear Mama,
It's been a long hard year since you passed and there were times I thought I'd never emotionally recover from your death. But now a year later and here today on your birthday I feel lifted up! Lifted because I know you're watching over Daniel and I. I feel it!!  And I know I have an angel on my shoulder because I feel your love surronding me. I still cry but it's not saddness, it's because the memories are so great. I feel the emotion in my throat and the tears come. I was trully blessed for 44 years with a great mother. I know it. I just miss you. With everything in me. I miss you!!

To Darrel, Daniel and the entire family;
My prayers to God is that He will grant you the comfort you need to endure this period of sadness.
I am very glad to have known Ellen from way back when.  She was already employed at Kaiser Aerospace in Irvine  when I started working there in 1973.  I soon found that she was a very very polite person and always wore a smile on her face that seemed to say,"I am blessed by an Awesome God, how about you?".
She was the best dressed lady at work that I had ever seen. I would always looked forward to her coming to work because I knew she would be looking Finnnnne.  She worked just as hard as her team, but she did not get dirty.  What a woman!
One thing I do know and that is Ellen Loved God.  She would listen to every sermon she could on Sunday morning when she did not go to church. 
She ordered sermons from one of her special pastor, pastor Jerome Fisher of  Little Zion Baptist church of  La, Ca.
Her other special Pastor was Pastor Stafford also of La.  She got me hooked on listening to the same ones as she did.
Ellen is one person that I know was my friend and I miss her so much. She holds a place in my heart just as if she was my own sister.  There are time during my days when I have to stop and shake my head in unbelief that she is no longer with us.  We have lost one of the world greatest daughter, sister, mother, aunt and friend that the world will ever know.
I am thankful to God that He allow Ellen and my path to cross.
Ellen I can almost hear you say,"I am in the present of the Lord and He is holding my hands as I look into his eyes, the Angels are singing songs that I have never heard and they are so beautiful". 
Rest on my friend I will see you after while.

Aaah Steve & Romona..you are so right. Such a special day for Ellen. Strange how I was thinking about her birthday and how she was so happy about it. On that day I was in Palm Desert at a wedding.Must be she wanted me to be happy that day. You see everybody.She still around.

A special day has past on Saturday OCT.12 2013,and one that should bring special memories for all Kendrick / Warren family. It was a beautiful fall
day and I thought of all the good times that I had with Ellen and how she really looked forward to her Birthday. Darrell and Danny..hold your heads up high.Life has to go on.You know and I know your mom loved you both dearly.Without you, she wouldn't have made it thus far.Betty and Nichell I have known you along with your sister and aunt. you were with us at the picnics. This is probably the most important thing i'll do in my life. Honoring my mother today.

It says it in the Bible, the 5th Commandment 

" Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God commanded you, that your days may be long, and that it may go well with you in the land that the LORD your God is giving you."

The Lord gave my brother and I a mother who gave to us love and strength. Something she was taught by her own mother and father on a farm in Georgia, surrounded by her thirteen brother's and sister's.

He gave us a mother who cherished her parents. Though her father was strict my mother loved him dearly. And she worshiped her own mother, whom she called the gentlest and kindest woman she ever knew.

The Lord gave me a mother who loved her siblings dearly and they her. 

Words can't express the gratitude I have for what my mother's sisters did for her this last year she battled leukemia.

They stood strong for there sister. They lifted her. And when her life's journey came to it's closing the gave her the courage to let go.

They held her hand and said rest. Be free.

It was a gift and I thank you Auntie Mattie, Auntie Annell, Auntie Lucille, Auntie Betty, Auntie Joy and Auntie Patricia.

The Lord also gave us a mother who was hard-headed, who didn't play, who spoke her mind...even if it hurt your feelings and who could be a bit prickly. 

He gave us a mother who yelled and said no all the time. But she did it with the understanding that she was trying to make us men. And that she wanted us to work for the things we needed and desired in this life. 

He gave us a mother who cultivated anything my brother and I ever showed any interested in. She never said no to desired dreams.  

The Lord gave us a mother who loved her soap opera's and her Sci-fi and action movies. My mother loved a good action movie. But this was also the same woman who would cry a river over the latest break-up of Victor and Nikki Newman on The Young and the Restless.

The lord gave us a mother who showed us forgiveness. After she and my father broke up, there was a lot of tension between them. 

As the years began to separate the pain my parents relationship turned into a deep friendship I feel. My father sat with my mother the last week of her life and I saw a love and a compassion that was truly a gift.

Mother know I carry you in my heart always. I'm trying to remember everything about you. Your smell, your laugh and your hugs. Those things give me sadness and tears because I know I will not experience them again.
But I carry the memories in my heart and that brings me comfort.

It's hard to know what to say at this sad time because your loss is so great and because your sister will be missed in so many ways. But even though no words can truly comfort you, maybe they can express the care & concern that the Johns' family have for you & your family.

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief.  May your memories bring you comfort.

Today we will celebrate my Auntie  Ellen's life.  I am glad you're no  longer  suffering and resting in the arms of the Lord.

Our deepest condolences to the Kendrick Warren Family. We had so many days of laughter and food and dancing and celebrating all the birthdays it just did not seem like work. She always had the lords spirit and love in her heart.She always told me God was watching out for her even when she was playing the lotto, and sometimes I believe he was. God has hit the lotto this time, he has gained an Angel . Her spirit will always be with us all in different ways .She has passed all her strengths to us. God saw her getting tired and a cure was not to be.  So he puit his arms around her and whisper come with me. With tearful eyes we saw her suffered and saw her fade away. allthough we love her dearly, we  could not make her stay..her heart stopped beating.God broke our heart to prove to us he only takes best. Your  brother Arthur--Perma and family..

We will meet you on the other side, so wait for us. The Lord giveth and the Lord taket away, Blessed be the name of the Lord!

Stars are not stars but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones shine down upon us to let us know they are happy.  We love you auntie.

But as it is written: Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him. Ellen as much as we love you, God love you more! Miss and love you much.

I would have love to have met you.  I felt that I knew you through your wonderful son, Darrell.  You did an amazing job in raising your son.  We now know that you are dancing in Heaven and are now truly set free.

You said you were OK with the LORD, so we will meet again at the east gate for the Big Celebration.

I am so thankful to my Auntie  Ellen for letting me crash at her house after work because I was so tired and to spend time  with cousin (brother) Darrell.  I love and miss you dearly.
