He is also survived by his sister, Beverly Nelson, his children, Carol Voisine (Ray), Frank (Teri), Lyle, Holly Smith and 10 grandchildren. One grandchild precedes him. Lyle was an Air Force B-24 Liberator pilot during World War II from 1941-1946. He was a member of the 380-Bombardment Group H, "The Flying Circus". He enjoyed attending annual reunions with this group. When Lyle was 12 years old he met his wife, Clara. They were married in Long Beach, California in 1949 where Lyle worked for the Atlantic Richfield Oil Company. They moved to Costa Mesa in 1961 where Lyle continued to work for Atlantic Richfield until his retirement in 1976. Lyle and Clara loved to travel and have visited all 7 continents. Lyle was always planning his next trip and had an incredible zest for life. Those that knew and loved him will miss his afternoon smoke breaks, his gentle wit, loving smile and warm laugh.
