Gemma Novello, daughter of the late Salvatorre Fioretti and Adeline (Chianelli) Fioretti, was born March 16, 1923 in Chicago, Illinois. She was the third of five children.

She was united in holy matrimony to Adolph Novello on November 16, 1941. This union was blessed with five children. She was preceded in her death by her husband, Adolph, her son, John, and her sister, Ida. She quietly departed this life Saturday, May 21, 2016 in her home in Auburn, California. She is survived by her daughters with their spouses , Annette and Eugene Genovese and Bettina and Donald Denne, her sons with their spouses, Adolph and Phyllis Novello and Robert and Kathleen Novello, her daughter-in-law Gail Novello, and her siblings, Helen Esposito, Eleanor Carey, Tony, and sister in law Rosalie Fioretti.

Gemma was the epitome of an Italian mother and grandmother. Her family was everything to her and she was never so happy as when she was feeding them her homemade ravioli, sausage, meatballs, and countless other delicious dishes. She never lost her sense of humor and good attitude, even in hard times. She was a genuinely happy person and loved by all who knew her.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children and their spouses, her 18 grandchildren, and her 15 great-grandchildren with one more on the way!

Our hearts have been made to rejoice during the passing of our loved one by the many acts of kindness extended to our family. Services will be held on June 2, 2016 at Harbor Lawn Mount Olive Mortuary and Memorial Park, 1625 Gisler Avenue, Costa Mesa CA, 92626.
