Trudy Saltzman, 81, of Laguna Woods, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2019
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm January 15, 2019 at Harbor Lawn – Mt. Olive Memorial Park & Mortuary, 1625 Gisler Avenue, Costa Mesa, CA 92626 with Rabbi Dennis Lensom, officiating.
Visitation will be at 4:30pm January 15, 2019 at 575 D Avenida Majorca, Laguna Woods, CA 92637.
Gertrude (Trudy) Gutin Saltzman," 81, of Laguna Woods, passed away at home Tuesday, January 15, 2019. She is survived by her children Jeffrey Gutin (Norma), Janet Gutin, Lawrence Gutin (Dahabada),Steven Gutin, step-children, Stephen Saltzman, David Saltzman (Tina), Susan Leath (Anthony), grandchildren, Nicole, Jamie, Courtney, Sam, Samantha, Rachel, Lauren, Jessica, Joss, Allegra, Skylar, and Hannah.
She is predeceased by her parents Selig and Sylvia Fraim and her brother Jerry Fraim. Trudy’s journey began in Brooklyn, New York. She graduated PS 244 and Tilden High School. Her first marriage was to Herbert Gutin and they had four children. She later met and married Morris Saltzman and expanded her family. Her journey took her throughout the United States. Morris and she lived in Nanuet, NY, Saratoga Springs, NY, Boca Raton, FL and finally Laguna Woods, CA. Her family and friends were most important and her relationship with the temple was held close to her heart. She graduated from Rockland Community College with an Associates’ Degree in Business Administration and fulfilled her ambition when she became an Insurance Underwriter for Met Life. Throughout her retirement she traveled the world. Her best moments were in her VW caravan with its Love Bug license plate. She was a gifted sculptor and painter. She was an avid gardener, an avid Mahjong player and teacher, Canister player, and Hadassah member, loved dancing, laughing yoga classes, fishing, Jewish culture club, Yiddush Club, RV club, NJ Club and Film Club. Her favorite past time was playing games with her children and grandchildren. She was very competitive and it was rare that the kids beat her. She was always smiling, laughing, was everyone’s best friend.
