Dear family, dear friends of the Timberwolveassociation and -pups.

Yesterday I heard about the loss of your father, grandfather and veteran.  It's always sad, that a unique person isn't in our midst anymore. For us in Holland he symbolises courage and sacrifice with the result, that we can live in ultimate freedom. We can't be thankfull enough. His struggle has ended and I hope and  pray, that he will be rewarded for the immens good he brought to our world, to Holland and  to Standdaarbuiten. I will honor him during the religious celebration on Friday and we will pray for his deserved eternal rest.
We wish the family strength and the same courage as he had  to bear this loss. May God keep also his promise to this man, that He will welcome him in his eternal House of Peace.

I did not get to know Hy while in Europe but we became fast friends at the 104th reunions. G-413 owes its spendid reunions to Hy's planning and organization. Sleep well. friend of mine. You have earned this rest.

My deepest sympathies to you all. I feel honored and priviliged to have met Hy several times and to have called him my friend. He was a wonderful and exceptional person who will be deeply missed.

What a great Character.

Hy was an important member of my current e-mail circle of Timberwolves.  While my wife and I were attending a technical meeting in Beverley Hills, CA in 2007, Hy drove all the way into town to have dinner with us.  Ever since that dinner, Hy and I have had an even more special relationship.  I miss him. but will continue to remember him fondly, and with great admiration.

I am truly sorry for your loss.  I knew Hy through the American Legion Post 291 in Newport Beach.  I will miss seeing Hy and our conversations.

A friend to all he met who will be greatly missed by the many whose lives he touched. Our great supporter Hy was the inspiration for the founding of The National Timberwolf Pups Association. The wise counsel of this veteran will always be remembered.

I will turn home at last once more
Knowing that a true soldier's rest
Once earned is sweet
His peace complete
Who gave until the last his best

I was saddened to hear about Hy's passing.  We were both in Company G, 413th Regt. and we met at several Reunions over the years.  His hard work keeping in touch and providing Company parties were invaluable. A great human being.  The world has lost a real "Gem".
