Ira Gregerman grew up in Brooklyn, NY son of Jack and Anne (Zweig) Gregerman. He was a phenomenal husband to Minna (Zagoren) Gregerman for 62 wonderful Years. Proud father of Dan and Sandra (Goldstein) Gregerman of Glenview IL, Rhonda and Michael Blatman of Herndon VA and Jason and Roberta (Kaplan) Gregerman of Laguna Niguel CA. Grandfather to Kayla, Jack and Katelyn (Sanders), David, Oscar, Eli, Samantha and Jacob. Great Grandfather to Warren.
His career took him and his family from coast to coast until settling in Holden MA for 50 years. His last adventure was moving to Mission Viejo CA in July of 2025.
For 40 years he built a career in the aircraft, aerospace and finance industries and started two businesses in manufacturing and business management consulting.
He was an author of multiple books and contributing author to multiple written works.
His education included a BSME from Polytechnic University, New York in 1959, an MSME from Polytechnic University in 1965 and an MBA from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1981 where he was an Adjunct Professor.
Upon retirement, Ira spent his time playing bridge and woodworking where he turned his love of wooden toys into gifts for all the grandkids. He then began donating his wooden toys to all the local hospitals to help the sick children.
Ira enjoyed volunteering at Beth Israel Synagogue of Worcester MA for many decades actively serving on the finance committee and being a proud founding member of the long-standing interfaith group in Worcester MA.
In addition, it gave him great satisfaction to volunteer at SCORE – Service Corps of Retired Executives where he offered his experience as an entrepreneur, engineer, and executive for multiple industries.
Most importantly, Ira centered his life around family and friends, smiles and humor. He relished traveling with and seeing family near and far. He enjoyed being part of the children and grandchildren’s lives and activities. He traveled to multiple countries with friends and family. He considered and treated his friends like family always staying connected with them.
Ira had a love of sports. He was a golden gloves boxer in Brooklyn NY, played football and stickball and was a devoted lifelong Brooklyn Dodgers fan. His earliest memories of the Dodgers at Ebbets Field include seeing Jackie Robinson play his opening weekend.
