James Robert Pellissier of Santa Ana passed away June 16, 2019 from complications of heart disease, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was 75 years old. His wife, Carole, and son, Chris, were at his side. He will be forever loved and deeply missed.
Jim was born September 5, 1943, in San Luis Obispo CA. After initially moving to northern California with his family, they finally settled in Whittier Ca, where he enjoyed helping out on the family dairy farm. Shortly after graduation from high school, he signed up for active service in the army and fought in the Vietnam war. Upon his return, he enrolled at UC Berkeley where he majored in economics and received an MBA. He treasured his time at Berkeley; reading, studying and learning became his lifelong passions and brought him great joy.
In April, 1985, he married Carole Christianson and in 1987 welcomed his beloved son, Christopher. His life was dedicated to being the best dad and husband he could be. He was a sweet, gentle man and was always there to support his family in any way that he could. His love was strong and powerful, and he showed us the true meaning of unconditional love.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Carole, his son Chris, his sisters Carol Pursuit, Leslie Pellissier, Martine Martinez, and brother Andre, along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. With all the suffering he had to endure, he did it with grace and dignity and always viewed his health challenges as another adventure from which to learn. He always had a smile, bright eyes, and a warm greeting for everyone.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Saturday, July 13, at the family home.
Memorial donations in memory of Jim may be made to Alzheimer’s Research Foundation, 3152 Little Road, Ste. 146, Trinity, Fl. 34655.
