I had the incredible fortune to meet Jim at the Houston's restaurant in Irvine, CA while I was traveling on business.  As we talked that night, he told me about his book he was writing about a WW II fighter pilot.  I later learned that the book was about his experiences in WW II.  I traveled to Irvine often and we agreed to meet at Houston's on my next trip.  It was on this trip that Jim provided his autographed book to me.  What a prized possession!!  Jim reminded me of my Dad as they were close in age and both fought in WW II.  My Dad died in 2006 so getting to meet and talk to Jim, brought back so many fond memories of my Dad.  No doubt why they are called The Greatest Generation!  Rest in Peace my very good friend James Vincent Powers!

To my wife, Nahid, and me, Jim will forever remain the intelligent, effervescent, positively-charged, warm and caring human being who lived life to its fullest, and who wore a smile that radiated from ear to ear whenever he looked into your eyes.
