Although I did not know Joel, I live in a place that he lived.  My name is Patrice Codrington, and I live in Hawaii.  For some time, I'm  not sure how long, Joel lived in the apartment where I am now.  I still get mail addressed to him.  One particular piece of mail prompted me to seek him out.
It was a letter from the VA .  I opened it (yes I did).  Apparently he  was injured during his time in the military and needed medical assistance.   That help came too late.  
Even though I did not know Joel, I can only imagine the kind of person he was. His struggles, his heartbreak, his accomplishments, his failures, AND his triumphs.
I pray that his soul can rest in peace, and  know that there is someone who thinks of him fondly.
