Kathy embraced life with enthusiasm and an adventurous spirit. Blessed with natural beauty, charisma, and a let’s go attitude, she had a gift for encouraging others to reach new goals and inspirations.
She was not one to seek the spotlight through titles, committees, or organizations. Instead, she built her life around experiences, friendships, and shared adventures. She was a gentle spirit that just wanted to hang out and enjoy the day. Whether skiing in the mountains, playing tennis at the local park, scuba diving in South America , biking in Europe, golfing at the club, traveling to a new destinations like Galapagos/Peru/China/Africa/Russia, or gathering around a dinner table, Kathy was happiest in the company of others.
She possessed a contagious sense of fun and a remarkable ability to create memories that were cherished by those fortunate enough to have traveled with her. If you gave her a call she could be ready at a moments notice for the next trip and I wouldn’t put it past her to show up on your doorstep before morning coffee with paint brush and canvas to catch the morning light. She appreciated the skills of others in art, sports, or fashion and would frequent an art gallery with the same ease at a Bear’s game. Although being vastly talented she was humble and just wanted to feel included.
She spent her last days surrounded by her devoted partner Mike and frequent visits by her daughter Dorothy. Her son Peter and daughter in law Nikolyn provided love and care for the weeks up and until her passing.
Kathy is survived by her son, Peter Garner and his wife Nikolyn Garner, and her daughter, Dorothy Rogers and two grandchildren Connor and Gabriel Rogers. As well as one brother, John Meurs, his wife Lynn Meurs and their three children Rebecca, Aleesha, and Megan.
