September 4, 1937 – October 4, 2013
Kenneth Carl Jones of Costa Mesa died on October 4, 2013 at Hoag Memorial Hospital. Born in Orange, California to Alberta Marie and Emery Sidney Jones, he was a former commercial fisherman and avid outdoors man who loved nothing more than battling giant swordfish and albacore tuna off the coast of Mexico.
He lived most of his life in Costa Mesa and Newport Beach and graduated from Newport Harbor High School in 1955. He started his early career in the family commercial fishing business and went on to graduate from Orange Coast College while raising two young children. After receiving his degree, he joined the IBEW union and enjoyed many successful years working all over the world as an electrician.
During his travels as an electrician with the Fluor Corporation, he met his beloved wife in South Korea. They spent many summers camping and fishing together with their two young daughters. His happiest memories were camping, fishing and hunting with his cherished family and friends. He was a devoted husband and father, and was the cornerstone which held his blended family together.
Ken is survived by his adored wife, Kyong; brothers Terry and David; children Kenneth, Gina, Tanya and Laurie; six grandchildren; and one great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his treasured and much missed son Nicky.
