

Godwin, Phillip Miguel, born October 29, 1984 in Sacramento California, passed away suddenly on July 11, 2011 in Newport Beach, California. Devoted father, brother and son; Phillip was an avid reader, amateur rock band musician and skilled "trick" snow boarder who achieved one his life-long dreams by working at Heavenly Valley Ski Resort in South Lake Tahoe. He attended community colleges in Pennsylvania, Lake Tahoe and Orange County California with the personal goal of completing a degree in Resort Management. With his beautiful smile, relaxed attitude and great personality, he made innumerable friendships from California to New York and Pennsylvania where he lived over the past 26 years. Phil is survived by the loves of his life Denise Agustin, their infant daughter Scarlett Rose Godwin and a baby girl expected to arrive this November; mother, Debra Faris; father, Glenn Godwin, his wife Susan and baby sister Alexis; brother, Daniel Godwin; sister, Gina Godwin and her son August; step-sister, Jenna Tabor-Godwin and step-mother Lana Godwin; grandparents, Glenn and Theresa Godwin; aunt, Cheryl Medina-Godwin, her husband Fabian and cousins Joanna, Wendy & Nicolas Medina; aunt, Gayle Bonelli and cousin James; uncle, Todd Godwin, his wife Christine and cousins Jarrett & Bryce; aunt, Marla Reynolds and cousins Allison & Teana; uncle, Allen Faris, his wife Betty and cousins Christopher & Brandon; and over 300 other immediate family members from the extended Godwin, Gomez, Faris, Luna, Tyndall, Smith, Palena, Agustin & Alvarez households. He was proceeded in death by his favorite uncle Kenneth Godwin, uncles Bill Stewart and James Bonelli, grandfather George Faris and great-grandmothers Elena Gomez and Eloise Smith. Visitation/viewing for Phillip will be held Thursday July 14 from 5-9pm at the Harbor Lawn-Mt. Olive Mortuary in Costa Mesa, California. Final funeral arrangements will be handled by the Rivera Family Funeral Home, Espanola New Mexico. Wake and rosary will be held on Sunday July 17, at 7pm, Mass of Christian Burial on Monday July 18, 10am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Lumberton, New Mexico, with internment to follow at the Gomez Family cemetery in Dulce, New Mexico. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to benefit Scarlett's 529 college trust account. All checks should be made payable to "Fidelity Advisor 529 Plan".
