Phyllis was such an inspiration, She had a heart of gold. She was so generous and kind. She would often do what she could to help out other neighbors by giving us food or other practical items.
She had a great sense of humor too. She would tell such crazy stories about her life. She would tell stories about her time as a hotel manager, about her life with her ex husband, Jim and her cats, and about her time in the rehab center right after her stroke. Despite the difficulties of her life, she did her best to enjoy it. And she didn't feel sorry for herself. She had a lot of dignity, and was very independent. She did what she had to do to take care of herself.
A few weeks ago Phyllis started coming back to Newport Mesa Church, where she had attended many years ago. She seemed to be enthusiastic about coming back to church. She always had a fancy hat on. She loved her festive hats!
