Sandford (Sandy) Phillip Katz was born on September 21, 1958 in Burbank, California to Edith and Nathan Katz. Sandy graduated from college in Israel before becoming a chiropractor and specialist in applied kinesiology. His career was dedicated to observing feedback in the body to provide athletes and patients with holistic support. An avid fan of classic rock, science fiction, and his dogs, Sandy was a lively, musical, charismatic and brilliant father of two girls: Stacey and Raychel. He was the life of the party, always supplying his special recipes of Jell-O shots, silly jokes and extra charm in every interaction.
Sadly, Sandy was in a severe car accident in 2008 which left him in a coma for years. While he made a miraculous recovery, the effects of the accident left him with a traumatic brain injury that influenced the rest of his life. In his later years, Sandy enjoyed spending time with family and his close friend of 50+ years, Suebee, at Disneyland and Angels baseball games. Sandy passed peacefully in his sleep on April 1, 2026. He is survived by his daughters Stacey and Raychel, his beloved grandson Dylan, his sister Marlyn, and nieces Nicki and Jackie.
