Born in Poland on May 14, 1933 to Laizer and Toby Brodacz, Sid immigrated to Mexico where he attended school and learned to speak Spanish, which he still loved to speak throughout his life. As a teenager he moved to Chicago, Illinois, where he met the love of his life, Shirley. They were married for 71 beautiful years. Affectionately dubbed the “Latin Lover” by his family and friends for his handsome, muscle-bound youth, Sid’s true romantic legacy was his enduring dedication to his wife. Together, they raised their family in Chicago before spending the last 14 years enjoying life in Orange County, California.
A man of immense dedication and grit, Sid spent his career at successful laundry businesses for over 40 years. He was known for his grueling early hours, often waking up at 2:00 AM to start his route in the laundry truck, occasionally bringing his children along for the ride. He also loved being a mechanic as a hobby and was known for fixing anything that needed to be fixed.
Sid was a cherished "Papa" to his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who loved him dearly. Sid’s memory will be carried forward by the large, loving family and many friends he built through the years.
He is survived by:
His beloved wife of 71 years, Shirley Brodacz, his daughter, Sherry Bloom, his son, Ralph Brodacz, his sister, Esther Epstein, his grandchildren: Tara Helling (Dan), Derek Bloom (Brianna), Jordan Brodacz (Ally), Jake Brodacz (Grace), Justyn Brodacz, Jesse Brodacz, Sean Brodacz (Rebecca), Kimberly Brodacz (Stanley), Seth Brodacz (Katie), and his 15 cherished great-grandchildren.
