I recently learned the sad news.
Sending my condolences and reflections.
I worked with Tom at Fieldman Rolapp for a couple of years in the '90s, and then stayed in touch intermittently since.  Had a fulfilling long catch up phone call a few years ago on the cusp of the firm's reunion.  
An All-Time favorite colleague and more.  Always a fun and positive demeanor.  Tom was very thougtful without being overly pensive.  He had a solid moral compass, always doing right by the clients while doggedly charting and navigating the path of progress.  I cherished the 6:30 pm sessions of catch with Tom where we'd toss one of those stress balls back and forth in the hallway of the office and discuss a bond deal before fully shutting it down for the day.
He will be missed, but certainly also remembered fondly.

So sorry for the  family and sad to say that I haven’t seen Tom in over 30 years. But I’ve never had a bad memory of Tom. Always of fun and laughter. God has some laughs now!

It has been a lot of years, but I too had the pleasure of knowing and hanging out with Tom back in the 80’s in Carson City. I lived just a few houses down from Tom on West 4th Street and attended many of his hilarious and zany “theme” parties. The “Come as your Favorite Dead Person” party was always my favorite. Then there were the many years of Nevada Day celebrations! To this day it brings a huge smile to my face thinking of those great times. 
Another favorite memory is when Tom recruited me for a spot in the “Nevada Bladerunners”. A classic Johnsen event. Way too much fun! A photo of all of us Bladerunners, in front of our big banner, still hangs in prominent view above my workbench. 
Always positive, always looking upwards, Tom never missed an opportunity to share the good times with his friends.
Such a huge loss of a unique and special spirit. Tom truly epitomized the ideal of “One of the Good Guys”. Farewell my old friend. Happy Trails!

Though it has been many years since I’ve seen Tom in person, I will always remember the laughter, the entertainment, and Tom‘s positive attitude towards the future. Gone Are our days together from the 80s but Still a smile on my  face when I think of him today.

I remember Tom from his days in Carson City and his time with RCI.  He was always great fun and had the best sense on humor.  His organization of the Blade Runners and their performance in the Nevada Day Parades was vintage Tom.
I still wonder if it was Tom who rolled the tire down the stairs of the School House on Telegraph Street busting out the front door.
My condolences to his family who lit up his life after I knew him during  his Carson City days.
Tom brought things to life and to our lives that we don't see  enough today - fun, humor, practical jokes and a Joi de vivre.  

Where does one begin to share memories from what seems to be another lifetime.  My memories of Tom stem from the Carson City gang.  So many to choose from.  There was the night we were all drinking Tequila with the worm in the bottle.  In true Tom style as the bottle got low he swigged until the worm fast approached his mouth.  He ran into the bathroom and we thought he was going to spit it in the toilet. We ran after him.  Nope...he stood in front of the mirror, held the worm between his teeth and promptly swallowed it while my sister Joanee and I screamed.  There was his brother's birthday where we dressed like saloon girls and he was Tom Paradise and the Flamingos and stormed into Marie Calender's singing Mack the Knife.  He also had a brief stint as Nick Fury, the lioness tamer.  The one that I still laugh about especially as I drive in the area it happened, is the time Tom and I were headed back from Tahoe.  He had on a pull over sweatshirt and asked me to help pull it over his head as he was hot.  It was a bit of a struggle as he was still driving.  I got it part of the way over his head and it got stuck.  I started laughing hysterically while Tom is saying "Marge, I can't see".  I have no idea why this struck me so funny and it still does.  I honestly tell this story every time I drive in that area.  Tom was one of a kind.  I will always remember his laugh.   He was an honorary member of our family and I am so sad we lost touch over the years.  Fly high Tomas.  

It was a very sad day around Carson City when we found out about Tom’s passing.  The following days have been filled with tears, smiles, and down right laughing out loud when we think back on the shenanigans that Tom convinced us to partake in.  Some of my memories are  picking up his new golden puppy Dancy, the trip I conned him into taking to Tijuana for a Caesar salad and margaritas, the multiple trips he would make to the Quirk sisters house to remove the grasshoppers, and the U-haul drive taking him away from Carson City to his new adventure(s) in San Diego, then Orange County.  The years of such close bonds will never be forgotten and he will forever remain in our hearts.  


My condolences to the family. 

I have tears, but tears of joy as I think of all the pranks and schemes that Tom dreamed up and I participated in that made our time together so memorable and perhaps the most fun time in my life.

I am one of the many life long friends that Tom was part of when we were all in our 30's and working at RCI in Carson City, NV.    My many memories of time spent with Tom were always with fun and his kind and generous heart.   He absolutely had the very best sense of humor and his antics kept us all in deep belly laughs.       Where does one begin to share a memory, when I have so many of Tom.  There are too many to even think of logging, but I just want you to know that you are in our thoughts & prayers during this time of loss. Brenda and I met Tom and Claudia back in February 2002 when we traveled out from Minnesota to interview.   We became friends and partners for 16 years.  I always enjoyed opportunities to travel with Tom in the Central Valley.  Tom always displayed his faith and his love of family (and great pride in Kiera) along with a really unique take on our career.  Tom was a rounded professional who was always thinking about how to do things better.  He was a good friend and confidant.  I will miss him.  God bless his memory. 

I met Tom (TJ) in 1996 when I was the associate assigned to work with him at FRA. During the next five years I worked very closely with Tom.  He was passionate about producing quality work and serving in the best interests of our clients.  To date, I’d like to think that I try to live up to those standards.   Tom loved dearly his wife and daughter, and when he talked about them his eyes always shone. Among TJ’s other qualities was his sense of humor.  He was a great story teller and made people laugh. Finally, he was also very sensitive and would get teary-eyed, especially in the subject of patriotism.  Tom, thank you for all the fun memories.

Tom was a 1971 Alleman High School classmate of mine. He had many friends and acquaintances. I was never outgoing enough to know him well. But I do remember him as a smart, kind and generous person. And I admired him for those qualities.
