William Lash passed away on October 22 at the age of 90. Born to Philip and Anna Lashinsky in Bronx, NY. As a child he and his older brothers worked in the family grocery stand. He joined the Army Air Corp after graduating high school and served as a communications engineer (radio operator) in Allied occupied parts of Japan and the Pacific. After his successful completion of his army commission, he joined the Air Force reserves and again was a communications engineer. He then attended Technical School and started his career in the Aerospace Industry, working for 2 different defense contractors. Bill designed and monitored communications equipment for the missile program and then for the Space Program. He had a long and successful career, and loved his work.
Bill enjoyed ham radio and was actively involved with it most of his adult life. In addition he and his wife Rita enjoyed going on cruises and playing Pan. They were also actively involved with a Jewish community organization called B'nai B'rith, and most of their friends came from this organization.
Bill was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, always putting family first. Friends and family are invited to attend memorial services on Wednesday October 26 at 2pm, at Harbor Lawn-Mt Olive Mortuary in Costa Mesa, CA, followed by a reception.
