It is with profound sadness and much love that we mourn the passing of Agnes Webber in the early hours on July 10, 2025, at the age of 96. Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend will be forever remembered by her sons: Bob (Jackie), Joe (Josie), and Dan (Bev), her 6 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. Agnes was predeceased by her loving husband George, her parents Harry and Grace, and sister Elsie.
Agnes was born on May 19, 1929 in Cumberland, where she lived with her parents and sister. She met and married her loving husband, George, in Bevan. In 1956 they moved to Cumberland. Agnes worked at the Cumberland meat market for a short time. When she wasn’t camping, she volunteered at the Cumberland Lodge for many years.
Agnes was a beautiful and caring lady who always wanted to be around her family and friends, whether it was in her home, at the campsite, or in church. She was a marvelous cook, she never turned down hosting a meal. Her baked bread, blackberry pie, and baked cheese cauliflower will always be remembered. She loved having her family over for turkey dinner. Agnes was a devoted grandmother who always cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren, especially when they came camping with her and George. This was a time where wonderful memories were made that will never be forgotten. Agnes loved to play cards with George and friends. She was always giddy when she had the winning hand. She cherished the time she got to chat with all her loved ones, getting updates on everyone’s lives and people loved talking to her too; her phone line was always busy!
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Ocean Front Village in Courtenay for their care and compassion. In honor of her wishes, no service will be held.
The grief that remains with us is all the unexpressed love that we never get to share after someone passes. What a gift it can be because that means you really loved somebody when you miss them and they really loved you back. We, as a family, will always feel blessed with the love and hugs we shared with Agnes. We will truly miss and celebrate her with the love that still remains.
