Bertha Jean Millet passed away peacefully on October 25, 2020 at Courtenay BC.
Born in Cartwright Township, Durham County, (Nestleton) Ontario on January 31, 1926 to Stanley and Bertha (Taylor) Malcolm, Jean was raised on the family dairy farm. She left home at an early age to pursue her love of singing and piano as a music teacher in Oshawa, Toronto and Ottawa. Right to the end, mom loved music and singing, and will be missed at the senior's sing-a-longs. After moving to Vancouver in 1981, Jean qualified as a Real Estate agent with Canada Trust, and after full retirement she and Jim proudly volunteered for many years as YVR Green Coats. Jean is predeceased by James "Jim" Millet, her adoring husband of 58 years; brothers Neil (Toots) Malcolm and Lawrence (Gwen) Malcolm. Survived by daughter Mary Michele Claveau (Mitch), son James Malcolm Millet, grandson James David Millet and grand-daughter Madison Michele Millet. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada were mom's wishes.
