Betty passed away peacefully at home following a short illness. She was the beloved only child of Lewis and Elaine Lepper who grew up in Vancouver and Ottawa. She attended Normal School and got a teaching position on Texada Island where she caught the eye of the principal. She and Fred (predeceased
2014) spent the next 63 years together in Powell River and Comox. They enjoyed a long retirement boating in the summer and RVing to Palm Desert in the winter. Betty loved hiking, yoga, going to the gym and supporting her grandchildren in their sporting, theatrical and dance endeavours. She was a loving mother to Robin Doupe and Terri (Grant) Jones and a much loved Baba to Michelle (Connor) and Tanner Jones, Erin and Nicole Doupe and great-grandson Hudson MacNeil. She was an elegant, gracious lady who will be sorely missed. Say hi to Papa for us. At Betty’s request, there will be no service.
