It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a wonderful wife, mother and oma.
Doris leaves behind her husband Allan, son Allan (Charlene), daughters Susan and Donna (Markus), nine grandchildren, Matthew, Ashley (Steve), Dustin, Dorothea (Robert), Timothy, Courtenay, Haley, Trenton and Taylor, three great-grandchildren, Hanna, Ryleigh and Molly and her sister, Anita of Zweibruecken, Germany. She is predeceased by her parentsWilli and Olga and her sister Johanna of Zweibrucken, Germany.
In 1960, Doris and Al were married in Zweibrucken, Germany and were happily married for 53 years. Doris had a wonderful personality and would just love to dig through Al’s garden and leave a mess. She was an incredible cook and Doris and her daughter, Donna would enjoy cooking for as many as 140 people for Oktoberfest. Doris loved playing darts and was very good at it. She could dance anyone under the table. Being a typical German driver, she would frightened many passengers. Doris was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br.160 for 25 years and was a member of 888Wing RCAFA for 20 years. Doris worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital for 20 years.
Doris will be dearly missed by family and many friends. We would like to give a special thanks to Dave and Vicky Willington for all of their help and to our special friend, Irma Kaulback who was Doris’ bridesmaid and lives in Courtenay and to ClaudeBedard, a true friend.
