Mom passed away peacefully at home on her own terms surrounded by her children (it was not a nude crossing lol). Fran was born in Regina, SK, and moved to the Comox Valley with her parents, Mac and Inamae Witzel, in 1949.
She leaves behind her loving children, Deidre, Heidi (James), and Brian. She always said ‘yes’ to cards, games, puzzles, and mischief with her grandchildren Taylor, Chloe, Noah, and Emily. Fran enjoyed time spent with all her siblings and their extended families. Her life motto was ‘the glass is half full’ which when combined with her strong and independent spirit led her to an adventurous life throughout BC and the Yukon. She moved back to the Valley to see her grandchildren grow up and finally she retired here.
Thank you to Dr. Konway, Dr. Reggler, and the staff at Courtenay Medical and the Comox Pharmasave.
In lieu of flowers Fran requested that donations be made to the BC Flood Relief fund through the Red Cross.
