When Harley Falta walked into the room, those in his company felt energy, an enthusiastic spontaneity. This was just one example of who Harley was and how he impacted those around him. Harley was a clever and gregarious person who always sought out the finest attributes in other people. It was as if Harley wanted to share all of their experiences, revel in their lives and celebrate their discoveries. Harley was tireless and had boundless enthusiasm that would serve him well throughout his life.
He was the son of Noreena and Ken Falta. Harley was raised in in Victoria and the Comox Valley. Always at the ready with a good joke, he grew up to be quite a humorous person. While some who knew Harley might describe him as an idealist, his friends and family understood well that Harley was always in pursuit of life’s endless possibilities and opportunities available to him.
Harley was raised with one brother named Torin Falta. Harley was very accepting and supportive of his family. He was perceived as the central person in his family in terms of keeping communication open between the family members. Whenever discord or tension arose within the home, Harley was typically the member who brought about resolution and harmony. These traits served Harley well in his adult life and, along with his wit, outgoing personality, and understanding of others, drew the admiration of many who knew him.
With a talent for making acquaintances easily which in turn brought him an endless stream of friends, Harley was very sociable and could blend without effort into any social group. Assertive and outgoing, Harley was easy to know and demonstrated a deep concern for others. He always seemed aware of what was going on with people around him and throughout his life he made many, many friends. While growing up, some of his best friends were Amanda and Kelsey.
Harley was uplifted by new ideas and was excited by life’s possibilities, traits that made him an exceptional worker. His primary occupation was framer and construction worker. Harley was enterprising, inventive and working against deadlines seemed to energize him. Harley had the uncanny ability to identify a win/win solution to just about any problem, possibly because of his gift for insight. Harley's fellow workers saw him as a supporter and a mentor.
Because Harley loved to have a broad variety of activities in his life, he took advantage of the opportunity to pursue numerous hobbies. His favorite pursuits were video games and camping all over the island. He loved hanging out with his friends and going to punk and rock shows. Harley had a knack for being able to multi-task in order to create time for all of his favorite pastimes. However, Harley's ever-present concern for others always took precedent.
Harley Falta passed away suddenly in the wee hours of the morning on Saturday December 17, 2016 in Victoria, BC on Triangle Mountain in his home. Harley secretly struggled with alcohol and drug addictions. In the end he lost the battle. He is survived by his loving mom and dad, brother Torin, nana Helen, Aunt Edith, Uncle Darren, cousin Hunter, and many other relatives and friends. Services were held at Piercy's Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 1:00pm. Harley was cremated on Saturday, December 25, 2016 by his Uncle Darren and Aunt Edith. We never left your side sweety.
There was always a certain style and inventiveness to Harley. He was a dynamic, self-expressive person who was forever looking to celebrate the endless possibilities life had to offer. He had a knack for being clever, creative and witty, and for others, was a joy to be around. While he was often fiercely independent, it seemed as if many others looked to Harley Falta for inspiration, leadership, wisdom and even courage. Harley was always more than willing to share life’s experiences with his loved ones.

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and tragic passing of our beloved Harley in the wee hours of the morning on Saturday, December 17th at the age of 26.
Harley was born July 23,1990 in Prince George, BC. Shorty after he moved to Victoria, BC. He had the biggest smile, it would light up your heart and everyone in the room couldn't help but smile too. He was a sweet, dear loving boy. So kind and friendly. His parents Noreena and Ken decided to move to the Comox Valley and raise Harley. In 1996 his brother Torin was born. Their family was now complete. He grew up with his loving grandparents Charlie and Helen Falta close by and his Auntie Edie and Uncle Darren.
When he first moved away from home he moved in with his girlfriend Kelsey and her mother Catherine. He was a very hard working man and had amazing work ethics. He would be flipping burgers at A & W, or working in Catherine's Fish n' Chip restaurant. He had very fond and loving memories of these times. Eventually he moved in with his aunt and uncle and decided to start his career in construction. It was a period of ups and downs and lots of changes in his life. He was so proud of his career and how hard he worked. He sure didn't have luck with vehicles though. We can't count how many Fords he went thru. And cell phones, wow. That is another story. Oh, and talk about accident prone...... but he managed to smile and rise above all these challenges that life dealt him.
He is predeceased by his grandpa Charles Falta, and Grandpa Fred, and 3 cousins. He is survived by his loving family: father Ken Falta; mother Noreena Falta; brother Torin Falta; Nana Helen Falta; Oma ; Aunt Edith Jones; Uncle Darren Jones; Cousin Hunter Jones; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
EVERYONE LOVED HARLEY.
He was the kindest, most gentle soul. He always thought of others, before himself and his needs.
