It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother Jean. Born in Rosendale Manitoba, Jean was the youngest of 7 children. Jean was predeceased by her parents Jacob and Jessie Frizzley, siblings Joseph, Rueben, Mary, George, Anne, Phyllis, and Gerald her husband of 58 years.
Jean leaves behind her 7 children, Maivis, Marsha (Dave), Iris (Lyall), Lori, Deanna, Tanis (Glenn) and Byron, 15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and many niece and nephews located across canada.
During her youthful years Jean could be found playing softball, bowling, playing bridge and baking while raising her family. For 28 years Jean worked at the Comox Valley Sports Centre concession flipping burgers and telling a good joke. The majority of people that knew Jean called her "Gramma-Jean" . Jean had a passion for playing and teaching the game of bridge to many younger players. Jean was often referred to as the "Queen of Bridge" as she achieved one of the highest honors of "Gold Life Master". Much to Jeans chagrin, her daughter Maivis was the only one of her children that took up the game.
For many years Jean loved to be at the ballpark watching her son Byron and her daughters playing ball.
Jeans trusted companion throughout the Covid pandemic was her wee dog "Lu-Lu" who rarely left her side.
Jean will be deeply missed by all that had the privilege of knowing her.
A Celebration of life will be held on Sunday July 17, 2022, Comox Valley Sports Centre, Arena #1.
3001 Vanier Drive, Courtenay from 1:00 to 4:00pm. Everyone Welcome.
