John is predeceased by his parents Robert & Rosalie, siblings Roy, Robert, Jeff, Ken, Marcel, Bill, Joyce and Gloria.
John is survived by his wife of 59 years Faith, sisters Rosalie and Betty, daughter Angela, sons Marcel(Spomenka), Trevor(Brenda), grandchildren Jacie, Karisma, Zack, Summer, Teresa and great grandson Jaxon.
After receiving his city and guilds (Red Seal) master plasterer/mason John left family and friends in England for Canada, where he made BC his home. He did construction throughout BC before becoming a custodian for the North Vancouver School District. In 1971, John moved his family to Courtenay where he became the custodial supervisor for school district 71 until his retirement. John enjoyed many years as a hockey coach and was a fan of the Glacier Kings. John enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing and hunting. His Passion was his garden where most people would find him. John had a green thumb and due to this he took on the hobby of making homemade wine. In the last five years John volunteered at the Comox Valley Foodbank.
He will be missed for his never ending story telling, his giving nature and sense of humour. (There will be a few less barking spiders!)
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
