Cancer takes another wonderful person too early. Kathi was predeceased by her father George, leaves behind her daughter Sarah (Greg) and her two grandchildren Koen and Kye, her mother Rita and four brothers Ted, Glen, Jim (Diane) and David. Her spouse of 35 years Don, also Joey and Dazey. Kathi was a wonderful, caring, kind person, and she will be missed by all relatives and friends.

She met many people by first working in the service industry. Many will remember her tending bar at the Whistle Stop for years, then moving on to the Nursery business where she loved wearing blue jeans and getting her hands dirty. Then finally ending her career making flower baskets. She was rightfully proud of her ability to blend plants and colour to make a finished product.

She loved the Comox Valley and her soul will always remain here. A gathering of friends and family will come later this summer. We would like to thank the nurses at the Comox General Hospital for their care of Kathi till the end.

In Lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Mars Wildlife Rescue.

I have always loved the bright beautiful smile and contagious laugh of my cousin. Fun loving, down to earth and very much like her father, she was kind spirited! I recall happy lazy summer days spent at We Way Kia campground, with her music blasting and suntanning to the 70s music! I loved her joy in life. I’ll always have great memories of my Cuz!

My Aunty Kathi was like a mother to me. I always looked up to her, confided in her and tried to emulate her. She loved the simple and beautiful things in life like a beautiful plant, the sunshine, the rain, her pups, a great song, good food and good company.

I’m going to miss our talks. I’m going to miss your turkey dinners and amazing homemade pies.
I thought of you today when I jumped in Muchalat Lake. I felt so much gratitude for being able to swim in such a beautiful place and to share so many beautiful memories with you. Your all around us and I’ll always love you.

Kathleen, our friendship was brief but memorable. Your beautiful spirit lives on in your lovely Sarah and her sweet boys. Every time I look at a flower —and that is often—I think of you. You were a pleasure to know and I will miss you and all the possibilities our friendship had yet to unfold.
To your family my heartfelt condolences. You were a treasure.
May your spirit soar
