Ken died quietly with peace. 20 years ago, he retired to the Comox Valley after a long career with the municipality of Saanich within Greater Victoria. Ken loved the valley, and all the friends he connected with throughout the years especially his buddies at afternoon tea at the A&W. Ken is survived by his wife of 53 years, Karen; daughter, Pam (Jim) children, Scott (Shelby) and Becky (Steve); son Craig, daughters, Marissa and Cailyn; mother-in-law Loyis Schmidt, sister-in-law Lori (Dave), Ryan and Desi. He will be truly missed, but loved in our hearts forever. At Ken’s request there will be no service, however, he strongly believed in and encouraged the practice of random acts of kindness. Let’s do our part! Thank you for the exceptional attention and kindness provided by the ICU doctors and nurses at the Comox Valley Hospital. The care provided helped guide our family through a very sad time

We were truly blessed to have had such a strong connection and relationship from the day I was born. You watched me have my ups and downs, go through some difficult times, but you were always there for me, being a support and always giving me guidance when I needed it. Something I will be forever grateful for.

I will miss your grumpiness, your happiness, your smile, your voice, and just overall you.

I am so grateful you got to meet Steve, and we are comforted knowing you will be watching over us as we take the next step in our lives together.

We love you with all our hearts. You may not be with us physically, but we know you are always near.

“If you get there before I do, don't give up on me
I'll meet you when my chores are through
I don't know how long I'll be
But I'm not gonna let you down, darling wait and see
And between now and then, 'til I see you again
I'll be loving you
Love, me”

We have seen Ken & Karen a few times over the last few years and they were always so kind and always happy to see you.

Ken was a gentle giant!

I will truly miss your sense of humor and how you, Karen and laughed, be it at each other or with. The drives we shared and some shenanigans we got ourselves into.( coupons, daffies, holly to name a few) I will treasure those memories and have you in my heart forever❤❤💙
