Peggy, Doug and Katy - with great sadness, I read your father's obituary in last Thursday's Sun newspaper.  I had worked with your mother at BC Housing in the 1980's and kept up my relationship with both of your parents even after their move to Courtenay.  After your mother died, I exchanged Christmas cards and annual news with your father but, for a number of reasons, last Christmas was difficult and l didn't get round to writing - and neither did he.  I missed his news, and hoped we was well still.  My greatest memory of your father in particular was when your parents and I attended a Frank Sinatra concert during Expo 86.  It was a history-making moment for all of us - especially for your Dad!  While I do wish I were able to attend the get-together in Courtenay on Sunday, it is just not going to be possible for me.  Please accept my sincerest condolences.  I will always carry your mother and your father in my heart.  I wish you only the happiest of memories.   God bless you and all your family.
