Ken was born the 8th of 9 children and lived his whole life in the Comox Valley. Predeceased by parents Cornelis Johannes Marinus and Catharina Johanna Cornelia Oomen. Survived by his loving wife Shelley, siblings Hubert (Shawnette), Marie, John (Peggy), Joe, Ella (Allan), Andy (Brenda), Wally (Loreen), Cathy, brother-in-law Ian, sisters-in-law Daphne, Maureen [Ailee and Cashton], and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
In 1991 he married the love of his life, Shelley Fraser. His last 5+ years were spent at Comox Valley Seniors Village. A special thank you to his care aids Ruthie, Shannon, Madison and Katelyn, who treated him with great love and care.
A Celebration of Ken’s Life will be held on Saturday May 10th, 2025 from 1:00pm – 3:00pm at the Florence Filberg Centre.
