From there he joined the Royal Navy in 1948 and served on HMCS Ontario until 1953.
Larry cherished his Navy memories of world travels and adventure.
He was employed by Abitibi Paper Products in Thunder Bay, Dairyland, CFB Chilliwack, and Canfor as a Stationary Engineer until his retirement.
While living in Thunder Bay, Larry was a highly active member of the Knights of Columbus.
Larry had a love for gardening, winning awards for his dahlias and gladiolas. He enjoyed his camp at Silver Beach on Lake Superior.
Larry’s passions included traveling the world and running marathons of which he successfully completed five.
Larry is predeceased by his two sons James and David.
He is survived by his wife Shanne, and three children, Lorraine (Evan), Linda, and Dan (Tami), and Shanne’s five children, Jeff, Maureen, Lori, Shelley, and Carolynn.
He is fondly remembered by a number of grand children, and great grand children.
Cremation has taken place, and a private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
