Predeceased by husband Friman (Fred) Harald Marthon Davidsen as well as her parents Hurd and Evelyn Cooper, Lorraine was born in Bracken, Saskatchewan.
She enjoyed a childhood as the daughter of a Customs Officer and a School Teacher, spending the majority of her childhood and young adult life at the Nighthawk-Chopaka border crossing. Her father taught her how to shoot which fostered a life long passion for competition target shooting. Travelling to competitions throughout Canada and the USA, led to meeting her husband Fred, at a shooting range.
When her son Clark was born, Lorraine dedicated herself to being a caring loving mother. She enjoyed working with Clark’s cadet squadron 902 (at the time named “Kiwanis” Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron), teaching marksmanship and participating as a member of the sponsoring committee. She volunteered endless hours driving cadets from Keremeos to Summerland for cadet training, as well as supporting the local Air Cadet Gliding Program and housing many young pilots during weekend flying operations.
Lorraine was a 57 year, very active member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Past Worthy Matron and Past Grand Representative to Pennsylvania (2012-2014).
Survived by her son Clark Hurd Lee Davidsen and daughter in law Christel Davidsen, grandchildren Cadence Lorraine Davidsen, Elliott Sommer, Jadon Sommer, Karis Sommer, Reagan Sommer, and Morgan Sommer and by her seven great grandchildren, her nephews, nieces and her cousin’s Margret Anderson and John Andrus and their extended family.
In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made to the 902 “Nighthawk” Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron Sponsoring Committee, or an Air Cadet Squadron or a Civil Air Patrol Unit (USA) in your local community, or a tree to be planted in her memory.
