“Patsy” or “Pat” was the first born of three children, followed by brothers Thomas “Wayne” Owen, and Kenneth (“Soupy”) Owen. Pat met her husband John (Jack) Buckle of Yorkton in Melville circa 1960. The couple were married and soon thereafter relocated to the West coast, where they settled.
Pat was trained in clerical office work but soon found her place with Canada Post as a “Postie”, a job which she very much loved, and which provided a supportive social network of friends in return. In the early 80’s Pat and children relocated to Vancouver Island (Quadra). A few years later the family returned to the lower mainland where she secured a position with the “Land Titles” office in New Westminster, until her retirement.
Soon after retirement Pat moved to the Comox Valley in order to be closer to her children and grandchildren.
Pat was predeceased by both parents, her brother Wayne, and her ex-husband Jack.
Pat is survived by her three adult children: Noble, Wesley, and Dariel(Stewart), Grandchildren: Ben, Harry, Kevin, Jayme, and Ty, Great granddaughters: Ella and Mae, and several nieces and nephews.
She was known for her generous nature and big heart, and easily became a motherly figure to many family friends and acquaintances along the way. Her home was always an open door and safe harbour.
Pat’s surviving family will gather in Saskatchewan to remember her and lay to rest in her hometown and birthplace of Melville Saskatchewan.
