A great Dad to his two young sons ❤️
A son and brother deeply loved by his family and friends ❤️
He is survived by his parents - Mom, Trish (Darren), Dad Les, Brother Brett (Georgia), his 2 young sons, partner Isobel with their beloved dogs Bonnie & Bambam, as well as his Uncle Mike, Aunties Lisa (Trent) and Lori, his Uncle Randy and cousins Jordan, Austin and Tianna. And many treasured friends along the way.
Paul was predeceased by his Grandma Jo in 1998, Uncle Brad in 2001, Grandad Walter in 2005 and Cousin Dallas in October 2023.
Paul lived life with full exuberance and passion! In his youth, he spent as many waking hours as possible snowboarding at Big White in Kelowna with his best friends. He also enjoyed hockey, golf, skateboarding, soccer and mountain biking. Astronomy fascinated Paul at a young age, an exploration that continued into his adult life. After High School, he headed to Whistler, BC to follow his snowboarding dream.
Not one to sit still for long, he travelled to Northern Alberta where he worked in the oil and gas industry for several years. He loved the learning, the adventure and the quiet of Northern Canada.
His lifelong love of learning led him from Computer Science at BCIT to branching out and becoming a Red Seal Certified Carpenter and eventually starting his own Drafting Company. His meticulous work as a Draftsman was highly valued by Architects and clients in Whistler and throughout Vancouver Island, BC.
Paul was given many wonderful opportunities in his life by many wonderful people. Additionally, he was fortunate to travel through Europe and parts of Asia.
In November of 2021, Paul adopted Bambam, a retired sled dog from Snowy Owl Tours in Canmore, Alberta. He and his trusted companion trekked many a mile together. Bam also liked to be a bit of a "Houdini" and disappear on Paul once in a while. This lead to some fun outdoor hide and seek excursions to find out where Bam had decided to go.
Paul loved his years of living on Vancouver Island. He could never get enough of hopping into his truck with a roof top tent and heading out into the peace of nature to enjoy camping and fishing. He characterized himself as a Professional Bushwacker and Amateur Steelheader.
We will always be grateful to have shared time with you Paul, and the many beautiful memories held close to our hearts. We say a very fond farewell to an incredibly bright light in our lives ❤️
He's only gone on ahead of you,
Not just left you behind.
Although you can't be with him right now,
He lives on in your heart and mind.
The day will come when you will meet again
On Heaven's distant shore,
And we will walk together. Forever more.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations to https://www.snowyowltours.com/ or your preferred charity in support of mental health and wellness. Thank you 💜.
