Born and raised in Moosamin, SK, Pearl studied nursing then moved to Hamilton, ON where she met and married the love of her life, Kenneth Roy. In 1946, they moved to the Comox Valley and lived happily the rest of her life. She went peacefully to be with the Lord on January 23, 2013 at the Cumberland Lodge.
She is predeceased by her parents and brothers, Harold, Winfred, Raymond and Hal. She's survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Ken, her 2 children Caren (Brien) Hauser and Lynda Cochrane; siblings Carl, Ron, Evelyn and Roxie; grandchildren Lesley, Amber, Jody, Rheana, Ryan, and Chase; 5 great-grandchildren; and many more relatives and long-time friends.
Pearl loved music, her home was often filled with company, the smell of fresh-baked pies, and joyous sing-a-longs. She dedicated 52 years to the Hospital Auxiliary, 59 years to the Gideons, and most dear to her heart, served the Lord from the age of 15. Countless lives have been touched by her love and generosity; her smile and laughter brightened the room. "Pearly Whirly", Mom, Grandma, Sister, and friend, we will miss you dearly, but are at peace knowing you are dancing in heaven.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled on Saturday, February 23 at the Comox Pentecostal Church, 1919 Guthrie Rd. at 1:30pm, where a reception will follow. Memorial donations may be made to the Gideons or a charity of your choice. Thanks to the wonderful staff at the Cumberland Lodge.
