Ralph passed away peacefully on June 6 at Stanford Seniors Village, Parksville. He has gone on to join his loving wife of nearly 65 years, Edna Olga who predeceased him in 2015. He is lovingly remembered by his family: son Wally, daughter-in-law Rita, grand daughter Barbara, daughter Sheila as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was a kind man who lived simply and wanted nothing more than to make people smile.

So many fond memories of holidays at the cottage. Playing cards, fishing and trips to the dump to look for treasure, were all in a days fun.
No matter your age, Uncle Ralph included everyone, and made you feel special.
My Dad (Nick) will be so happy to enjoy happy hour with him up in heaven.

Uncle Ralph had an infectious laugh and a great sense of humour. Even though he repeated his jokes and lines in conversation, it was impossible not to laugh along with him once again!
I have Uncle Ralph and Aunt Edna to thank for introducing myself and Bruce to their favourite chocolate bar.... Waterbridge ......size extra large.
Sheila, Wally, Rita and Barbara, we share in your loss of another sweet family soul, Uncle Ralph. Thinking of you at this time,
Bruce and Sue Ziprick

There are so many great memories of Uncle Ralph, it is hard to choose; two stand out for me. First, I believe it was in 1967 and we were camping and swimming at Shuswap and before Uncle Ralph went into the water, he put a shower cap on his bald head and began rolling around in the shallow water. Hilarious.
Second, I was struggling with what direction to take in my university and working life and I remember him saying that it did not matter what an individual did, as long as it was a good, honest living and you were happy. I was grateful for those comments.

Sheila, Wally, Rita and Barbara.
So many wonderful memories since I met your family in June 1955.
I have never met anyone so content and always a good natured person. May your memories be with you forever.
A wonderful part of this is that your mom and Dad are now together.

Ralph was always ready to joke and loved to laugh. Even after he couldn’t remember who we were, he included us in his plan to engage us in life’s lighter side.
We are saddened that he is no longer available to laugh with us because it really wasn’t about being funny, it was about engaging people, including people in his life. He was a super individual.
