Richard Wayne Everson (April 14, 1942 - April 13, 2023) was born in Vancouver to Elmer and Ruth Everson. He joined the RCAF at 18, met and married Mary Frank (November 2, 1963), and moved around BC and Alberta as they grew their family.
A devout man known as Wayne to his friends and family, he was gentle and dedicated his life to the Four Square Church where he was ordained as a minister, although he never practiced. He carried the name Hayałkang̱a̱me’ from his wife’s family.
Wayne passed at 80 years old, one day shy of his 81st birthday.
Predeceased by his parents, brother Ronald Everson, and children Marilyn, Ralphie, Reggie, and Stephanie, Wayne is survived by his wife Mary, children Rob, Nick, Rick, Charlene, Andy, Danny, Krissy, Jessie, and Anna, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and over 44 years of foster children.
There will be a Viewing April 17, 2023 at 1pm and Service at 2pm at Piercy’s Funeral Home. The reception will follow at 3:30pm at the K’omoks First Nation Band Hall.
