Sean battled with his oral cancer for over 10 years and was given a terminal diagnosis last spring. It gives us peace knowing he is with our parents and God.
Sean was born in Edmonton, AB on April 11, 1962, with a full head of hair. He is the 3rd of 3 boys (Pat and Kevin) followed by his sister (Joanne). Saying his parents had their hands full was an understatement.
Sean seemed to excel at whatever he wanted to, including charm. He was an excellent gymnast along with his brothers and he was an accomplished skier which was a family sport.
After many jobs he found his love for the sea. He moved to Vancouver in 1986 to take a deckhand course. After a short time with BC Ferries, he joined the Canadian Coast Guard in 1987 as a deckhand He continued his education eventually becoming both an Officer in charge of a Search & Rescue Station and ship' Chief Officer.
His love for sea and music was only surpassed by his love for his friends and family.
Sean was predeceased by his parent, Cecil and Ann-Marie Potter He will be truly missed by his siblings; Pat (Linda), Kevin, Joanne (Mike), Sara (Ken), his nieces and nephews Britnie, Stephanie, Josh, Mark and Jessica.
May the road rise to meet you
May the wind be at your back
May the sun shine warm upon you face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand
(Irish Blessing)
