Sharlene Marie (Bortoletto) BANKS March 30, 1955 to March 3, 2012

Passed away at home, surrounded by her loving family.

She is predeceased by her mother Dorothy, father Louis, stepfather Renato (Satch), grandson Jared. Survived by her loving husband of 40 years Leonard, son David, daughters Deanna (Mike), Angelina, grandson Steven, granddaughters Talisha (Aaron), Mariah, great-granddaughter Ariel, 2 brothers and 6 sisters.

Shar (Button) was born in Cumberland and lived there all her life, raising her children and grandchildren. She loved to sing Karaoke and was lead singer in a few local bands in her teens.

Shar's working career varied from waitressing, cooking in restaurants, running her own health food store and working at Cumberland Hospital Laundry. She was a member of Cumberland Fire Dept. Ladies' Auxiliary and ran the R.C.M.P. sub-office in Cumberland. Shar was awarded Citizen of the Year in 1998. She loved cooking and baking new recipes to give to her friends, always ready to lend an ear to tell your troubles to, and a soft shoulder to cry on, with a big hug to top it off.

Cremation - no funeral. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, March 30, 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Cumberland Cultural Center.
