Bill was born in Saskatoon and is predeceased by his father Andrew Dingwall Ross, mother Cora Josephine Thompson, brothers Douglas and Robert and sister Emily.
He is survived by his first wife Dorthy Faye and their 2 daughters Arden Faye and Billie Lee(Gord), grandchildren Christina, Mark(Lisa), Tammy(Mike) and Treska(Dylan), great grandchildren James, Kate and Avery. Also surviving him are his loving wife Shirley, step children Dawn and David(Joanne), step grandchildren Roxanne(Jeff) and Dana, step great grandchildren Jullian, Luis, Raina and nephews Scott(Jean) and Bill(Linda) and many more.
“Stormy” dedicated 20 years of his life serving in the Navy and fought in WWII and the Korean War. He spent another 22 years on the water for BC Ferries. Bill was known for his sense of humor and our “Bompa” always had a song in his heart. He will be sorely missed by his family, many friends and fellow band members.
There will be a celebration of Bill’s life at the Salvation Army Church on Monday Sept. 24th at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations to the Salvation Army would be greatly appreciated.
Bill’s family wishes to thank the VIHA workers that cared for him in the last months of his life and also the nurses and Dr.’s of St. Joseph’s hospital that were there for him in his final days.
