Bill was born in N. Ireland and came to Canada in 1963. After a few years of working around Oakville, Ontario he came to BC and ended up moving to Tahsis in 1967 where he worked as a millwright and then as a Maintenance Supervisor at the sawmill for over 30 years. Many happy years were spent there with special friends and lots of time was spend out on the water. Left Tahsis in 1997 and after a few moves ended up in Comox. Bill spent many years involved with the Parksville/Qualicum Fish & Game Club. He enjoyed his trap shooting and especially enjoyed the time he spent with the many good friends he had. So many happy times spent camping at the different trap shooting clubs. Bill always had a special place in his heart for all his 4 legged “best friends”- Troy, Paddy, Casey, Toby and Cody. Keeping in touch with family and long time friends in N. Ireland and Scotland was also a priority with Bill.
Bill was predeceased by his parents George and Maggie Simpson. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Linda, his brother Fred (Joan), (nieces Debbie and Jude), his sister Hilary (nephews, Gary, Darren, John and Mark), also his sisters-in-law, Joan (nephews Stephen, Rob and niece Debbie) and Heather (nephew Cliff), as well as numerous extended family members and his special friends who were like family to him.
We would like to thank all the 3rd floor staff at Comox Valley Hospital for such caring attention he received, the home care staff and home care nurses, and to Dr. Brine.
No services by Bill’s request.
